The Centre specialises in the creative development of highly innovative virtual reality applications for the Heritage and Arts Sector. The technology can be used to reconstruct and interact with the past, to create applications for visitor attractions and to create new art forms for galleries and exhibitions.

In conjunction with Northumbria Tourist Board, regional museums and other museum associations, the Centre as developed a web site of Virtual Heritage Artefacts using a 3D scanner and QTVR technology.
